Speaking at Brick Stone Realtor's NRI Property Seminar, Hong Kong — Do's & Don'ts of Property Transactions

On October 28, 2023, our Partner Mr. Bharat D Sarawgee took the stage at Hotel Regal Kowloon, Hong Kong, as the invited speaker for a seminar organised by Brick Stone Realtor on Property Transactions in India for NRIs — Do's & Don'ts.

The session was crafted to address one of the most common pain points we encounter in our advisory practice — NRIs entering property transactions in India without a complete understanding of the regulatory and tax obligations involved. Mistakes in this space can be costly, and often entirely avoidable.

Mr. Sarawgee walked attendees through the critical do's and don'ts across the full transaction lifecycle — covering TDS deductions, FEMA compliance, correct usage of NRE/NRO accounts, capital gains indexation benefits, risks of poorly drafted Power of Attorney, and title verification best practices. The session was practical, direct, and grounded in real advisory experience.
