Our partner Bharat D Sarawgee was privileged to address two back-to-back knowledge sessions organised by NRI Nivesh in Jakarta, Indonesia — marking the beginning of what has since grown into a meaningful global outreach partnership.

Session 1 — 8th March 2025 Income Tax Bill 2025: An NRI Perspective In association with ICAI Jakarta Chapter

With the Income Tax Bill 2025 bringing sweeping changes to India's direct tax framework, this session was designed to deliver clarity on what the overhaul means specifically for NRIs — covering residency determination, income classification, cross-border transactions, and compliance obligations. Bharat unpacked the legislative complexity with his characteristic precision, making the subject accessible and actionable for every attendee in the room.

Session 2 — 9th March 2025 Will & Inheritance Planning for NRIs In association with JITO Jakarta Chapter

The second session addressed one of the most neglected yet critical areas of NRI financial planning — succession. Bharat guided attendees through Will drafting, inheritance rights, and succession laws for NRIs with Indian assets, while addressing the tax and compliance implications of transferring wealth across generations and borders.

We sincerely thank NRI Nivesh, the ICAI Jakarta Chapter, and the JITO Jakarta Chapter for the opportunity to serve the NRI community in Jakarta.
