Speaking at St. Xavier’s Alumni Association (Singapore Chapter) — NRI Property Transactions

Speaking at St. Xavier's Alumni Association Singapore Chapter — Property Transactions Do's & Don'ts

We were honoured to be invited once again by the St. Xavier's Alumni Association — Singapore Chapter on March 15, 2024, at Mayo Road, Singapore, for a seminar on Taxation of Property Transactions in India for NRIs.

Our Partner, Mr. Bharat D Sarawgee, led the session with a focused discussion on the do's and don'ts of NRI property transactions — an area where we regularly see clients encounter avoidable pitfalls due to gaps in awareness.

The session covered the full spectrum of compliance considerations — from pre-purchase due diligence and TDS obligations to capital gains tax, FEMA repatriation rules, filing requirements, and the risks of common documentation errors. Mr. Sarawgee's approach — grounded in practical experience and delivered without jargon — ensured that every attendee, regardless of their financial background, left with clear and usable guidance.
